Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes signing Barcelona star Neymar is “impossible”.
The Brazil international has regularly been linked using a move to Old Trafford, with reports the Premier League giants have been planning a massive bid in the off-season.
Mourinho dismissed the speculation, having said that, and said bringing Neymar to United was far as well challenging.
“I always try to become objective and pragmatic together with the clubs and ask the clubs what is often provided to me,” he told ESPN Brasil.
“Neymar is absurd. A club like Barcelona cannot and will not drop Neymar.
“Although [Lionel] Messi continues to be a young player with years to go, he’s currently playing nicely at 30.
“Neymar will be the fantastic player of Barcelona following Messi. I think it [signing Neymar] is like attempting to break into a protected. Not possible.”
Neymar, 25, has scored 14 ambitions in all competitions for Barca this season, his lowest tally since his very first campaign at the club in 2013-14.
Barca, who are second to rivals True Madrid in LaLiga, return to action using a trip to Granada on Sunday.
