Alexis Sanchez says he is pleased in London and hopes to view out his contract at Arsenal.
Together with the Gunners struggling inside the Premier League this season and potentially missing out on Champions League qualification, regardless of Sanchez’s fine form, the Chile international has been linked using a move away in the club.
Boss Arsene Wenger, whose personal future is inside the spotlight, revealed last week that Arsenal have put contract talks with Sanchez and Mesut Ozil on hold till the end of the season just after failing to attain an agreement.
Sanchez has now mentioned he wants to stay in London, even if he may not extend his deal in the Emirates Stadium that expires in 2018.
“I am content in London and I hope to finish my contract at Arsenal,” he told El Grafico at a media event in Chile, obtaining starred in his country’s 3-1 win over Venezuela.
“I want to keep inside a winning group and keep playing within the similar city. I need to play within a group that has aspirations.
I’m 28 years old, I still possess a lot ahead of me. I’m a player who takes great care of himself.”
Sanchez has netted 64 goals across his very first 3 seasons at Arsenal, winning the FA Cup in his debut campaign.
